Roomba Vacuum

The Roomba vacuum cleaners robotic vacuum cleaners that are autonomous as well. This vacuum cleaner when functions normally can move around a specific space and through its obstacles too while cleaning the floor.

It has been nearly a decade since the Roomba was introduced and the company claims that since then more than 3 million vacuum cleaners of this model have been sold in several homes. Many improvisations and changes have been made in the vacuum cleaners since they were first introduced. The newest models are better than the older ones when in recognizing obstacles and cleaning the floor. The constant updates and improvisations are aimed at providing better service.

Roomba Vacuum
The Roomba cleaners are composed with a disc which is nearly 34cm in diameter and the height of the cleaner is less than 10cms. The vacuum cleaner has a contact bumper that senses obstacles. This bumper is mounted on the disc in the front half section.

The bumper has a sensor for infrared on the top front center. The top center part of the disc also has a handle for carrying it around. The composition of the model depends from model to model. As improvisations are made in the machines of the models, appearance of the vacuum cleaner also changes.

There are 3 types of this vacuum cleaner:

1) The first ones are the original Roomba, the pro Roomba and the pro lite Roomba models.

2) The second ones include the series known as ‘Discovery’ series. The speciality of this series is that it has a larger dust storage space. Apart from a big dust storage space it also has better dirt detection capabilities.

3) The third one is the new 5XX series of vacuum cleaners.

The batteries used in the Roomba are the batteries made of nickel-metal hydride. The more you use your vacuum cleaner the more you need to recharge them. The second and third types of vacuum cleaners are much better than the first ones because they have an automatic homebase system for recharging batteries through the infrared. To charge your vacuum cleaner via homebase you will need at least 180 minutes. The second and the third types of vacuum cleaners can be used while they are being charged.

The benefit of having the third generation or second generation vacuum cleaners is that they need not be told the size of the room as is the case with the first models of Roomba vacuum cleaners.
